Technology

Polystyrene, epoxy resin, glass or carbon fabrics and EVA foam as a non-slip surface are the standard materials for the production of rigid paddleboards. We, in café paddleboards, replace 80% of these materials with wood. Renewable raw material created by nature. We don’t develop anything new, we just bring back the material used for centuries to build boats.

core

Unlike the conventional composite paddleboards, the core is not made of EPS. The core of our boards is laser cut from plywood and it is hollow. Everything begins in CAD. The shape of the paddleboards is carefully designed with regard to the required riding characteristics and to possibilities of the production technology.

hull

The deck and the hull are shaped from the paulownia wood. Paulownia has two exceptional characteristics. The strenght-to-weight ratio ranks it among the best woods in the world. Moreover, it’s a fast-growing tree species that can be grown on planatations. Currently in Spain.

deck

In order not to lose contact with the wood, we use only natural materials on the deck of the board. It is usually cork, but a possible variant is also a veneer made of waterproof wood treated only with oil.

design

There is no need to add something to the design of the paddleboard. The shape of the board is determined by its functionality. When designing, we carefully consider every detail so that it works best with water. We then complete the wooden texture with a complementary color, which you can choose according to your preferences.
